What’s Next for Wildlife 911?
Well, turning two means a lot in our world - we’ve proven to be a force in the Northern Neck region and beyond, fully supported by so many amazing rescues and officials that refer callers to our organization. Turning two means we’ve seen some things, we’ve accomplished some things, we’ve learned some things and we’ve earned some things. We’ve earned the respect of area wildlife advocates, we’ve earned the respect of our local police departments, and we’re even earning respect from far away, calls from states like Michigan and North Carolina, finding us on Facebook and asking for help. We hold the highest standards with every call made, and every call IS answered.
Big picture goals for Wildlife 911 Northern Neck include opening a wildlife facility in our own backyard, in the beautiful Northern Neck region. The Wildlife Center of Virginia is hours away, but that doesn’t stop transport of critical patients to Waynesboro, VA. We are so appreciative of their work and willingness to always help, even from far away.
We would love to have our own facility, here, further driving home the need for local help, fast. Call it a dream, call it crazy - we just know our area would benefit greatly from having a facility like this near by. We’ll be working hard to focus on this mission now that we’ve become established. Where we go from here is up to us, and you, constant reader, helping our wildlife in need.
If you are interested in helping our organization meet this lofty goal, please get with us! We’re looking for donations of land and building, labor and ideas, funding, veterinarian assistance, and volunteers willing to commit to the cause. No idea is too big, and no assistance is too small.
