If you find an injured or orphaned animal please stay near the animal at a safe distance and call us at (804) 453-0050. The most important information you will need to provide will be your phone number, the location of where you are with the animal, and photos of the animal.

The closest rehabilitator for all birds and non-rabies vector mammals is Julie Wobig, in Williamsburg. She may be reached by text or phone at (757) 592-8453. She has a close working relationship with the Wildlife Center of Virginia for complex cases, and is very experienced.
Pelicans and other seabirds, waterbirds, raptors, etc., contact Lisa Barlow at TREE, (757) 235-3189. Lisa is a very knowledgeable and caring rehabber.
For all other birds and mammals, contact the TWR Hotline: (757) 255-8710. It may take as long as an hour for this hotline to respond.
If this is an after hours emergency, The Animal Emergency Center in Yorktown will accept and treat wildlife at no cost, but please call them in advance at (757) 895-7555
